SSD Questions for my MBP 2010 15"

After doing some research on the threads here and at my local dealer, I am able to make the big leap to getting an SSD. However I just want to clarify somethings before I do it.

I am currently using a 320gb stock hdd.

1) Is it true that I can remove my superdrive and install an SSD in its place?

2) And I can keep my existing 320gb as a storage in its existing location, using the SSD as a bootup and for my os.

Yes you can however I would do the opposite.

Put the SSD in the may bay and the HDD in the OptiBay with an Optibay Mod.

Hmm, any reasons why? What's the benefits of this?

For your model none, as you can't support the latest SATA3, now if you had a 2011 version with SATA3 support then you could see faster throughput.
