SSD Replacement MacBook Pro Retina 2012

Hi guys. I would like to replace with Samsung SSD 970 Pro 1TB. Is it possible to do it or i need to go to early versions like Transcend or OWC?

It is important to Know what the specs of the MBP to know if the drive will fit and what type of SSD drive is needed.

NVMe M.2 512GB or SATA III 500GB SSD ??

There are adapters for the 15" to mount m.sata drives.

970 Pro is NVMe, yours is SATA3, via proprietary apple connector.

you will never get more than 500mb/s out of it.
You can use this adapter to connect and mSata drive to existing port.

I didn't bother and just bought a 2nd hand original Apple 750GB drive.

that model requires a special SSD -like ploki said - here is a link for more info at iFixit

Looks like it is $379 for the 1TB OWC version - click on the "parts info" and you can select the 1TB ssd

Easy to do but make sure you buy the correct SSD
