Hey everyone (yes, I know this thread exists: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/upgrading-2013-2014-macbook-pro-ssd-to-m-2-nvme.2034976/, I browsed 30 pages and couldn't really find an answer there).

I own an Early 2015 MBP Retina and currently running Mojave on it. I have reached my capacity of 256GB and looking to upgrade the SSD. I was looking into the Samsung EVO 1TB and getting an adapter. However, browsing that thread kinda scared me since I've seen many posts of people having issues with the battery life. Specially when the Macbook hibernates. That said, I don't really know what MB's those user's are using.

If you own an Early 2015 12" MBP Retina and have upgraded its SSD, have you experienced any issues? I code and travel/move a lot, so battery life is important to me. If the battery is really affected, then I might just opt out and get an SD card with an adapter.

I have the stock 256GB 2015 13". I did a clean install of Mojave and since the install the sleep was totally broken. I don't know how exactly, and haven't tried another clean install to try to replicate the issue. But I did a clean install and somehow my sleep was atrocious. High Sierra was bad too, compared to Sierra, but Mojave was a disaster. Turns out that somehow the hibernation was set to not kick in for 24 hours. Since I've clean up the settings with pmset I can use sleep again. With Sierra, and today with Mojave, I can put my close my MBPro at 6pm, and open it at 8am, and lose 2-4%. With High Sierra that loss changed from 2-4% to 8-12%. With Mojave (again, clean install) it went to 20-30%, until I cleaned up the settings.

It may be totally unrelated, but maybe it's worth checking, because it's a really easy fix.
