I treated myself to a 256gb M4 this week and bought a optibay from ebay and a USB enclosure to put the superdrive into if I ever need it.

I put lion on a USB pen which is really easy to do.

After the 1st boot I'm sure I was installed and ready in 15mins max. very fast install of lion. a quick migration of my major things and I'm set!

now I need to backup my 500gb before I format it ready to just be a slave for my downloads and music/photos lol

I left my SSD on 0309 though after reading the horror stories of 000F
 
Probably only second to a RAM upgrade for convenience although the SSD switch will probably have the most obvious impact depending on your workload. Enjoy. :)
