Thinking of upgrading my 2012 MBP hard drive to SSD... Preferably, 128 Gig as I'll have external hard drive or everything else.

Which manufactures are good.

I've been buying Cosair Flash USB sticks and they have been ok... but what about SSD ?

Samsung 830 is probably your best bet. OCZ Vertex 3 or Corsair Force GT (both sandforce based) are pretty popular as well, but the Samsung drives seem to be the best all around performers. The OCZ Vertex 4 still needs a few firmware updates before they should be considered (every firmware update seems to fix something, but then break something else).
