I'm trying to set up SSH tunneling on my PC so I can log into my iMac remotely. I have putty installed on the PC and turned on remote sharing on my iMac but I can't seem to get it to work.

Has anyone done this before? I'm guessing I need to forward a port on the router my iMac is connected to. Does anyone know what port I need to forward to? Any other steps I may have forgotten? Thanks for any help you can give me.

You need port 22 open on your router.

I forward port 10022 to 22 on my iMac - not for "security by obscurity" but because I have three Macs I sometimes ssh into from outside, so I have 10022-10024 forwarding to port 22 on the different Macs.
