Hi,
I'm looking for a solution to SSH over USB to the 3GS either from Linux or from Windows.

On windows, I've tried the iphone tunnel suite but it does not work.

On linux I've tried iTunnel but it also doesn't work on the 3GS (confirmed by the author).

Are there any other solutions ?

Thanks,
Tex

I've just found this but when I launch the ssh connection, nothing happens. (same behavior as with iphone tunnel suite)

Cool now It works. I actually didn't have iTunes 8.2 installed. I'm posting through a proxy from my iPhone 😉

The easiest method is to enable the tethering feature via the hacks and guides found in these forums. Once you do that, connect your iPhone via USB cable and access all network features of your iPhone at the following IP address:

192.168.20.1

It's very useful for SSH, SFTP, and VNC with Veency.

Yup. Doesn't get any easier than iFunBox. 😎
it looks like it is windows only and it is only a file manager.

I actually need a SSH connection to create a SOCKS proxy for my browser.

The problem with tethering is that it is OS wide so any network communication would go then through my iPhone which I don't want.
