Inside my head
I want to be able to SSH out, through the internet, to a host operating system for my Collage class. Is there a way to do this? Because "ssh [the-host-name.where.it.is] -l [my_user_name]" didn't work. It works on the Terminal that is on my Mac, so I know it should on a regular Terminal. I also read carfully what the Terminal Emulater is and it looks like the SSH function is for working within the device (iPad/iPhone/iPod). Is there a way to tell it to SSH through the WiFi connection? So I can in a longer way connect to my class?

Thanx

But can you ping [the-host-name.where.it.is] from anywhere on the internet? If so it might be the SSH port is closed for outside connection or switched to another port for outsiders.

NOW, I don't understand, if you are able to connect to [the-host-name.where.it.is] on your mac, at home? If so, when you tried with your iDevice were you on 3G or Wifi?

I think probably more detailed info is needed.
