I'm having trouble with the user/password when trying to ssh with cyberduck.

when I was on 1.0.2 it worked great root/dottie but for some reason it is not working now.

I used jailbreakme.com to get install.app and installed bsdsubsystem and openSSH as I did last time but when I use cyberduck I get login failed while using root/dottie.

I was wondering if there is any solution to this or if there are other user/password to use, also where are these passwords generated and how are they know? Why can I not set up my own or why is it needed if it is a general password?

    please help.

I just did the jailbreak on 1.1.2, and it used alpine as the password, and root as the username

they are made by apple, and found out by hackers that boot the iphone in something called "verbose debugging mode" which lets one view the entire startup process of the current firmware.

The password is coded in there somewhere, not something i suggest trying to look for unless you have a major understanding of unix.

The passwords are in /etc/passwd (well actually in /etc/passwd.master)

btw. When you change the root password remember to also change the 'mobile' user password as well, which has the same password 'alpine'.

    New Help

I've never tried any of this stuff before and am having trouble understanding. Can someone tell me how to access the SSH and what do you mean when you say /Blahblah/...how do I get there?
