Stability issues?

Maybe it’s because I’m running it off an external SSD, but Big Sur is a dumpster fire for me at the moment. iCloud contacts and files (Desktop and Documents) simply won’t sync and it freezes and crashes the whole laptop randomly and often. Is anyone else experience such terrible usability issues?

I had contact sync errors and messages issues - so I went back to Catalina.

In short, yes, but not surprised. I've come to expect this with Apple's mac OS betas.
