When I create a stack from folder on the desktop the folder remains on the desktop, is this the correct behavior?

Anything that is dragged to the Dock is a shortcut. You can't actually move files onto the Dock, if that makes sense. Only aliases can exist there.

What i did was make a desktop stack folder in the documents folder... then drag it to my dock..

Than I set everything that normally saves on my desktop to save in that folder....

Put it in the finder sidebar too for easy access.. now if anything does end up on my desktop i can just drag it into the Desktop Stack Folder on my dock or in the finder.
