I like @lordofthereef 's breakdown! I've been on the fence, too.
To me, this year, Apple has spent more time and effort on the Series II Sport\Aluminium version. Maybe that was because more people bought that version, versus the Stainless Steel.

PS: Often times, Best Buy has the Stainless Steel on sale for $200 off. Maybe in time, that will be the same for the Series II, Stainless Steel...

Since I was able to get that BB deal, I went with the SS. I returned the aluminum, no regrets so far.

I'm hoping the next aluminum Watch version has a matte black option like the new iPhone. That could pull me away from Space Black next go around.

I have the SS AW0, and I'm not planning to upgrade to either the Series 1 or 2.

But if I got a new one, I'd keep the AW0 ('cuz it's still damned sexy for a smartwatch, and watchOS 3 seems like exactly what it needs) and get a Nike version in space black aluminum. It would be my workout/knockaround/backup watch, and the easy Nike+ integration matches my wife's use of the Nike app on her iPhone.

Actually, the next AW we get in our household would be for my wife (likely a silver Nike edition). She only needs to give the a-ok.

I like my SS AW0 well enough, and unless Series 3 or 4 have some drop-dead improvements, or if it's no longer supported by watchOS updates, I'll just get the AW0's battery replaced when it stops holding a charge.

Since my main purposes are activity and exercise tracking, I really want the lightest watch possible. If the Aluminum cost more, I would still buy it.

Has anyone notice any differences in the haptic response between the SS & the aluminum?
