Any chance they’ll have the stainless steel series 7 watch available at launch day? Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve purchased on launch days, will they announce the pre-order date on Tuesday the 14th? will we find out launch day date in stores tomorrow during the announcement?

I have the series 2 watch, so for the 7 - can I still choose WiFi connection or do I have to use LTE? I’d rather not have to pay for another device each month.

We will only know the details tomorrow, but pre orders usually start the friday following an Apple event, so Apple Watch S7 preorders may only start september 17th. With the rumors regarding the manufacturing issues that Apple had with the S7, the preorder date may start a week or two later. The S7 won’t be in stores before the official launch day, which could be end of september or beginning of october.

I would be very surprised if the stainless steel is not offered, it is very unlikely that Apple discontinues this option. Usually, the stainless steel model is bundled with cellular, so you can’t choose Wi-Fi only for the SS Apple Watch. Of course, you can use a cellular Apple Watch without any data plan, so it’ll work like a Wifi AW.

EDIT: Apple Watch preorders have started just after the event in the past years, so it’s not impossible that preorders start tomorrow

26 or so more hours and you’ll have the official answer… and no, you do not need to activate LTE, I have it with mine and it’s not activated…

Thank you for your replies! I will patiently wait to pre-order tomorrow or wait to buy at launch day, whenever that is!
