I primarily have been in the market for a fitness band for the past 6 months. Held off for the Apple watch as it was all in one device.

Sport model gives me light weight, clean matte finish, and more durable glass.

Stainless gives me more flexibility when I'm not working out and can be worn in multiple settings with different bands. Glass is more scratch resistant but also easier to shatter from what I understand (I play a lot of sports: basketball, flag football, etc).

Do you guys think it is smart to get the stainless version for someone who is pretty active? I'm wondering if it would be more durable in the long run or not.

I'm regularly active, sweating for 1+ hours straight on long, high effort bike rides. I have no issues with my current stainless steel, link bracelet style watch and band. You may find yourself cleaning it a little more often.

I've seen someone take a hammer and a power drill to the Saphire glass without making a mark.
You'll be fine. Get the SS.

If you're worried about bands, remember that you can purchase additional bands separately.
