The BookArc has left some unpleasant stains on my MacBook.
I tried all sorts of detergents but it was not possible to remove them.
I reached out to Twelve South asking about advice, but they couldn't help me.

Has anybody had similar stains and could remove them?

Well, I don't really know what it is.
I tried removing it with silicone and wax remover (the insert of the stand is made of silicon), but it didn't remove the discolouration.
Also tried soap, IPA, brake cleaner, acetone, thinner, all without any effect.

I use that stand and when it was new, it left some marks. But they just come right off with warm water.

Did you have your MB in there for a long period of time? Also wonder if you have the wrong insert in the BookArc for your model.

I would be hesitant to use anything other than water and elbow grease

Fortunately, my BookArc has not left any marks on my space gray 13" MacBook Pro.

I also found stains on my 16-inch MacBook Pro. This is probably caused by the darker colour of the BookArc. Maybe some colour particles permeated in the aluminum shell.

It seems that the stain can be removed with alcohol wipes. But you might want to prevent from further stains.

I used two Post-its cut into the arc shape pasted at the bottom of my MBP. It should work well.
