Hey all

I called 12 South and they will be making an insert for the rMBP in their book arc that will come out in a few months. It works really well, so I'd wait for that.
Don't get a bookarc. Clamshelling severely bottlenecks your cpu/gpu. Diablo 3 ran at 20-35fps on medium settings at 1280x720 resolution while using a bookarc but ran around 50-70fps on high settings at the same resolution with the lid open connected to my TBD. This of course, was on the early 2011 Macbook Pro. It might be different with the new vents on the side of the rMBP.
Thats weird - why would clamshelling affect the GPU?

Hey guys, I didn't want to make a new thread to ask this so I figured I would ask here.
Does anyone know of another stand like the book arc that is out for the retina? Or are we going to have to wait for TwelveSouth to release their version?
These are nice if you just want to prop your macbook up a bit - http://www.bluelounge.com/products/coolfeet/
The BookArc with Retina support is now availableMine has been ordered.
Got mine ordered too! It should be here Tuesday!
For a naked rMBP, you use insert 7. Does the shell make too thick for insert 5?
It's too thick for insert 7, but not thick enough for insert 5.
