I have standby enabled and it works perfectly fine in the day time. At night, it shows for about 20 seconds and then goes dark.

If I get up to go to the bathroom at night it doesn’t turn on. I have to tap the screen to see the time.

Is this a known issue and any idea how to fix it?

Just had this happen and when I unlocked the phone I had to enter my passcode due to a restart. So it appears that my iPhone crashed overnight (unsurprising with iOS 17). Once I unlocked it and put it back on the charger, standby motion activate was working again. Another of the many, many iOS 17 bugs.

What happens if you wave your hand in front of it
In the daytime it works. At night it doesn’t.
Make sure Motion To Wake is activated in Night Mode setting of Standby settings.
Here are my settings.

It hasn’t worked in a few days.

A scheduled Focus maybe effecting it?
Maybe a hard restart may sort it.
I do have Sleep on…could that affect it? I assumed everyone had sleep on at night 🤷‍♂️

Any idea if Sleep focus would do this? Still not working properly, even after a hard restart.

Did you ever figure this out. My iPhone 15 Pro Max works fine with motion on Standby, but my wife has the same phone/same settings and hers does not work. Only when you tap it. I can’t figure out what is wrong.
