Standby mode goes dark despite setting

I set my standy mode to NEVER turn the display off during the night on mu iPhone 14 Pro, yet I often wake up and the display is dark. Am I missing something in settings?

iPhone 16 Pro. Low power mode off. Set to never turn off the display when in Standby. Yet my phone screen still turns off sometime during the night.
