With apologies to fans of Battlestar Gallactica, X-Files, etc, etc - I think the three heavyweights of science fiction are Star Trek, Star Wars and Doctor Who.

And it's been said in the past that any SciFi fan falls into one of those three categories: a Star Trek fan, a Star Wars fan or a Doctor Who an.

So... which are you?

Doctor Who, of course.

The other two are very good, but for me the Doctor shades it. It might not be as big and flashy as the others, but it's something we all grew up with over here and it's part of our national culture.

Missing Option

Red Dwarf, you insensitive clod! :D

BL.

P.S. all of the above.

Star Wars and Doctor Who, I don't really like Star Trek at all.

I loved for Star Wars though because I'd consider myself a bigger fan of it because I grew up with it, and only recently started watching The Doctor.

I used to be a Star Trek fan, but got very disappointed in Enterprise, even though at the end of the series, it was getting good.

I am pumped for the upcoming movie though!

Definitely should have been a multi-vote poll.

I'm more of a Star Wars fan than Star Trek, but I also really like Doctor Who.

I'd have to say that Star Wars is probably the biggest of them but Doctor Who is really up there too.

I'd be more of a Trek fan had we had cable while I grew up, as it was I could only watch the episodes when/if they were re-run on our local CBS, ABC, or NBC affiliate, usually after the 10:00 p.m. news so while I usually tried to watch/record them, often sporting events managed to delay the news and either cut the episode's beginning off (to get back on schedule) or episodes were skipped completely, so I usually lost interest after awhile.

Who used to run on our local PBS affiliate on Sunday mornings around 11:00 a.m. so I watched many of them at my Grandma's house where we went for Sunday breakfast after church.

I am fan of both Star Trek and Star Wars. I like Star Wars a little more though. There is only one Star Wars movie that I don't care for and that is TPM. There are three Star Trek movies that I skip over when I'm doing a Star Trek marathon: Star Trek: The Motion Picture, The Final Frontier, and Generations. Those three movies are downright terrible. Anyone ever notice that only the even numbered Star Trek Movies are any good? Ask someone to name a good Star Trek movie and aside from the ever popular: "Star Trek sucks," you'll get mostly: The Wrath of Khan, Voyage Home (the one with the whales), The Undiscovered Country, First Contact, and Nemesis.

Anyone notice that the new Star Trek Movie is the eleventh? So if it follows the trend, it is going to really suck.

I'd have to label myself as a General Sci-fi fan, with respective likes to each of the three mentioned.

I have my favorite shows/episodes for all of them. Example: I personally thought the "original" Star Wars flicks were better than the latest prequel batch. But that's just my opinion.

I like both Star Trek and Star Wars (although I'd probably pick Star Trek if pushed).

Never really got into Doctor Who (as in never actually watched it ).

Doctor Who. Never cared for Star Trek and Star Was was 50% good. But Who. I love Who. Old and new, but mostly I love the arcs in the new series.

I've always been more of a Star Wars fan, but back in 2001 I got a pretty bad case of food poisoning and ended up in bed for the better part of a week. TNT (or was it TBS?) was doing a Star Trek TNG marathon - they called it a "Five Day Mission".

I had never really watched any Star Trek before, but I must say I did kinda get into it that week. Picard is one cool dude.

I am a Star Trek person.
I especially like Star Trek: Enterprise. I wish they continued the show though. :(

Treky here

1st tie STNG and Enterprise

2. Voyager

3. DS9

4. Movies

5. TOS

Do like Star Wars to an extent, but only the movie aspects, not the books.

Never cared for Doctor Who
