I'm new to MBP's and Leopard, I've been following this forum since page 1. I love all the effects you are finding. Keep up the good work and if you can find the moving mouth effect I would be greatly amazed!!

This is being MADE not found...

i"m not too good with computers, and I"m very new to macs so I had a bit of a problem getting the effect. I can find the library, but where can I find the thing that says compositions? It doesn't appear when i search it on spotlight, or finder. Do I have to have the developers version to get it?

Hey man, make sure you're in the root folder (usually called "MacintoshHD" and represented by a single forward slash / (that's a unix thing). Now in root there should be a folder called "library' in that folder is a folder called "Compositions". If it's not there, make it, I had too also. this makes the pathway /Library/Compositions (that first slash is actually important!!)

Does anyone else have a red screen in their Photobooth in the fourth pane of effects. I've added a few of the effects made from quartz and was wondering if that could cause it.

I did have a red screen in my fifth pane once.

Try to remove any custom effects from /sytem/library/compositions and have exactly eight of them in /library/compositions. Also make sure the effectsordering.plist in Photobooth is unaltered

I got the same problem and I done what macnoviz told and now its fine

Yes all of these effects are only possible using the leopard iChat. However, tiger users can download and install a program called "ChatFX" http://www.scriptsoftware.com/chatfx that's what I did, it's pretty cool.

And for all of you leopard users who don't see the Compositions folder in /Library, just make it, that's what I did

okay, so does anyone have the inside scoop on when the leopard (PPC) and 10.4.10/11 version will be available?

I mean of ChatFX, of course.

Mac Book

Can i get this to work on my Mac Book iSight with photobooth?
because i couldnt find the EffectsOrdering.plist file.

the problem is... i cant find "compositions" folder. its just not there. should i make one?

open a new finder window

go to Macintosh HD

open folder library in Macintosh HD

open folder compositions there

put your effects in there.

Mac OS X
i think because this is a newer mac book (my first one died) i think i spaced installing everything..

I found this thread today. Is this the latest version of the effects you have done?

Also, what other effects are people using? I found quartzfx.com which has some more but where else should I look? My daughters love playing with the effects in Photo Booth so I would love to give them more.

there are 2 library folders + 1 for every user. You have to make sure you go to the right one. Use the Macintosh HD icon on your desktop and there you go to the library folder. Not system and then library folder or the library folder from your user (the folder that you can see along with pictures, movies, etc.)

If there is no folder in Library (the library you find in Macintosh HD) you should try making the folder "compositions"
