I literally poured an entire Starbucks Frapuccino in top of my iPhone. So far the speaker is not working because I can't hear the person on the other side of the line.

The speakerphone does work though selectively: I can hear the other person while using the speakerphone but I can't hear Music.

It also randomly turns on.

Sometimes when pressing play in the Music App Siri comes on without sound.

Question: If I go to an Apple Authorized Reseller (no Apple Store in my country) and tell them and offer to pay, would they repair it or they would refuse based on the water damage? Take into account I'm paying, I don't have Apple Care.

If so, how much have you heard it would cost something like this?

Where did you buy it from in the first place? Take it to a cellphone repair shop for an estimate. No idea how many pesos that'll cost you..

That's what I was asking. 329 dollars. Thank you.

It seems all the sound related things were becase it got stuck in Headphone mode. Right now it is not. It's just the Mic failing.

not recommending this, but here is what i did in a similar situation. Caramel Macchiato.

dumped drink on the iPhone. Like an inpatient idiot, i kept turning the phone on to see what was working. I didn't have any speaker issues but when i picked up the phone, some of the drink came out of the headphone jack. I panicked and knew that all the wonderful stuff in the drink would be bad for the internals of the phone. I decided to give the phone a bath in rubbing alcohol thinking that it would help wash away all the bad stuff and when the bath was over it would dry rather quickly.

So i turned off the phone, and gave it a fairly aggressive bath in rubbing alcohol for about 5 minutes.

Let it dry overnight and part of the next day.

4 months later and my phone still works, and doesn't smell like caramel.

i may have been lucky

You were a lucky guy. It indeed die. They showed me the opened iPhone and I could barely see the components. It was an iPhone turned dried frappuccino. So I ended up paying the $329 fee.
