Just a warning for those of you still using the original Airport card. Our local Starbucks has had A/B flavored WiFi for years, but it seems since last weekend they have now dropped A/B conectivity. This means anyone with the original Airport card is dead in the water unless you have a wireless G dongle.

I doubt this has hit all Starbucks yet, but be warned it most certainly will happen once Google comes in to your local Starbucks at some point.

Looks like I will have to go back to sharing my internet connection with my son.

Who knows how long we have for Airport Extreme.

WooHooo! Internet sharing from the MBP via Firewire!

Going to have to pull out my old Starbucks internet sharing scripts!

A good way to circumvent this is to get a good USB 2.0 wireless N dongle. I personally like the Netgear WNA1000m for its size, reliability, design, and affordability.

how can i tell what flavor card i have? Google/Starbucks has come here and it still works on my PBG4 alimunum
If you have an Aluminum PowerBook then you have Airport Extreme which is 802.11G. My son's PowerBook is a Titanium DVI, so it only has the original Airport (802.11A/B), which Starbucks cut off.
