got new MacBook Pro 14” 1TB HD, here in HKG, will be heading back to UK in days. I will take it out the box to save space in my ruck sack but can l actually open the Mac without logging in, so when I am back in UK I can transfer all apps and layout set up from my external HD time machine or even do it via another method by having my mbpr2012 switched on next to my new Mac Pro? this transfer won’t be prevented from opening virgin new Mac Pro right ?
migration assistant allows for the same as time machine? eg apps you have and set up eg l have the task bar with apps on left side of desktop, rather than default bottom. l do like this idea of just copying, manually, things l need or downloading software l use to reduce crud. so may actually do that. opinions?
