Start up issue

Hi I am new to this forum and I need help with a Apple iBook G4/1.33 14-Inch (Late 2004 - Op) Specs (M9627LL/A*) that wont start up. When you push the power button the hard drive starts to run like it is on steroids but does nothing else. It just spins it's wheels with a blank screen and no start up chime. Any help would be great.

No startup chime usually indicates real hardware problems. However, sometimes a PRAM reset can fix software issues. Try that and if it's still no go, you've probably got a dead machine.

How do you go about that which keys do you hold down I can't remember.
