I have a Imac G5. Every time I start it up theres a little square in the middle of the screen with the world in it and it blinks about 10 times, then switches to the finder logo and blinks with a question mark about 10 times, then switches to the login window. What is it and how can I stop it? It's really annoying.

Thanks.

I'm not sure what that might be, but i've seen something sort of similar on a school computer where the globe apeared and then blinked and then went back to the normal apple logo then started normally.

I was told that it normally does that when they are using the "netboot" which is some sort of way for them to use a remote server as a start up disk.

It might be that there are multiple disks that could be used as start-up disks and it's choosing or it cant easily find the start-up disk, i don't really know though, just throwing this out there.

Yeah it was the startup disc, it was on Network Startup instead of Mac OS X.

Thanks for the help though :)
