After I tried to log back into mac os from windows using boot camp, it restarts without the usual "deng" sound. Is there a problem or?

You probably had the sound muted in OS X when you booted to Windows. When booting back to OS X, the mute would still be in effect. In OS X, go to System Preferences, Sounds, and remove the mute. BTW, mute in OS X has no effect on the sounds in Windows and vice versa.
