I've really become bored with my iPhone .... I don't even play games and stuff that I use to do before

it is part of growing up ... there is more to life than "games and stuff"

one day you may even find yourself using your phone mainly for Email, text and phone calls

iPhone does getting boring after a short time. It becomes like a tv remote control, you use it for what you need, but you're not constantly changing it.

Sounds like a good time to try something else like windows phone or android. I'm fairly certain people like getting a new phone or computer because the first few weeks are spent installing new apps, learning a new interface, and doing new gestures/swipes. iPhone may always feel old if you upgrade each incremental version.

I'm not bored with mine, mainly because there is an endless amount of cheap apps I can download to essentially 'add' to the phone. Sure, the novelty has worn off (as I came to the iPhone 4S from this) but that just means I'm not using it every second of the day anymore ;)

I am currently using the 4s and had the 4 before it. I absolutely love my iPhone and iOS and I am never going to switch to android or windows mobile but last few months I've really become bored with my iPhone .... I don't even play games and stuff that I use to do before .... I can't wait for iPhone 5 and iOS 6

anyone feel the same way?

:)hi zombierunner, yes i feel the same about my iphone3GS, since ive done the update to ios5.01 my battery is lousy, so i dare'nt watch any films, play any music or play games too long on it,or watch webcams for too long either, which has taken the enjoyment out of it, ive actually been looking at a samsung note, as the battery is suppose to last 23 hours, wow. it's either that or wait for iphone5, not sure what to do now.lori

I never understand how people get "bored" with their phones... It's just a tool to get things done. Do you switch between MacOSX/Windows 7/Linux every couple months? I doubt it. An operating system is just their so you can get stuff done. It's supposed to get out of your way. In this day and age, it's the same philosophy on desktops as it is with mobile devices; almost everything you do is through apps... Whether it's the browser, games, productivity, or social media apps... It doesn't matter. Your just trying to get to the content you want...

And if you're bored with how the interface looks, you can jailbreak your phone and change the theme.

You'll probably find that for anything where the screen is on, the Note has terrible battery life.

I trying decide to get iPhone 4s or wait months after iPhone 5 before I can get one. I go threw phones fast, because it is a tool but also entertainment. I have android and getting bored with it. I had iPhone 4 last year. I plan to switch in a few months.

I was extremely bored of it until I jail broke it. Now I'm on it as much as I was back in 2007 when it first released.

Put your phone down for a week.

That or turn off all notifications outside of texts and calendar. That's typically what I do

i had this same feelings a few times with iPhone. I went out and bought an Android and used it for a few weeks. I felt crippled without my iPhone as things were just completely different with Android. Yeah it was a change, but nothing beats an iPhone especially if you are completely used to it.

I would suggest trying to find a cheap android phone and using it for awhile to see if you like it....chances are if you are addicted to iphone like me...an iPhone will be back in your hands shortly haha

I'm not more concerned, just wouldn't mind an update that's all. And you seem to be disregarding the fact that someone could be bored with the functionality not looks of the phone. Frankly most smartphones all do the same thing, it's how apple makes these tasks easier to perform that makes people buy their handsets on the whole. What is wrong with wanting new inventive ways to use your phone to achieve different tasks, or the same tasks in a better way? Apple have shown time and time again they can produce products that do this. I don't think it's unreasonable to look forward to these innovations.

There is nothing wrong with wanting these innovations. One of the big reasons it's not going to happen as quickly is that no one (including Apple) does complete re-writes of their software. Why not? Aside from the obvious fact that it creates more work, there are a lot of issues like backward-compatibility and developer SDK support. Apple is actually pretty good at incorporating new features on a pretty regular basis that are relatively innovative changes. But, you're not going to get disruptive changes that look entirely different or behave completely differently. Doing so would leave all the older device users and older OS users in the dust. And Apple wants to keep everyone happy and nudge them toward upgrading.

Encouraging users to upgrade without making their current products completely obsolete is a delicate balancing act. But because of this, you'll have legacy features and slower innovation as the iOS becomes even more popular.

So, to keep what should be an even longer story relatively short, no we're not going to see disruptive changes in the iOS behavior for awhile, until Apple comes up with an entirely different user experience. (But of course, they have no need to do this.. they're still catching up to their own success in terms of supply constraints and the like.)

Try a Windows Phone or Android phone if you're bored with what you've got, it's not like you can't switch back.

i've never been bored with my iPhone, or any electronic device for that matter.

maybe because i go outside, do things with friends/gf etc..

To be honest i don't feel bored, but i do like the nice little refreshes they have here and there with updates and then a new iOS version every year.

To me you can really have this problem with anything in real life. Cars, apartments, homes, computers.

The good thing is you can always make improvements and have it exciting again, which i feel Apple has been doing a good job with over the years.

But i agree, it could use a "new coat of paint" without jailbreaking rather than just "re-arranging things" if that makes sense to anyone :D

People will complain about anything.

Be happy you have a cell phone, a top of the line smartphone, to be exact.

I jailbroke my 4S and installed a Windows Phone 7 theme and did some other tweaks and it brought back all of my excitement with the device.

You know what they say, dont fix somehing unless it's broken.

I cringe everytime people say this... With this mentality, nothing would ever be improved. We would still drive car designs and functions of the early 1900's. Cellphones would never been invented, there would be no LCD/LED TV etc.. Nothing is perfect and everything can be improved to be better.

Starting to Get Bored with iPhone?
First world problem

And to be fair, you'd be bored after spend some or too much time with Android or WP Mango. Same old story.
^ This. The problem isn't the device no matter which device you end up with.

It works both ways. It's not a black-and-white matter. There's always room for improvement but few people appreciate "improvements" no matter how well the intention. For every improvement there are countless "improvements".
