I've been looking all over the web for a fix for my issue but no dice. It's not the exact same issue but the most helpful thread was https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/macbook-pro-no-sound-no-chime-everything-else-works-ok.1949680/
I tried all of the different fixes mentioned but none resolved my issue. I get the start up chime but don't get any sound after that. Not from the internal speakers, not when plugging in headphones, not when plugging in my usb speakers. Nothing is greyed out, F10, F11, and F12 all work.
However, when I open System Preferences --> Sound --> Output it changes appropriately every time (from headphones to internal speakers to my usb speakers). I just get no sound from anything. Tried all the different fixes listed including plugging/unplugging earphones, PRAM, Reset the System Management Controller, etc.
Thoughts?
