Hi,

I have bought a used MacBook A1278 and would like to get rid of the sound everytime I start up.

I allready have downloaded the StartupSound.prefPane from MacUpdate, but when ever I turn the startup sound off, I'll reboot and it sound again.

Does anyone have this problem to - and off course a solution? :)

Thanks in advance

/Dennis

The start up chime is intrinsically linked to the well-being of your Macintosh computer. Disabling it can have far retching implications. The inbuilt microphone actively listens out for the start up chime when you boot the Mac. If it is disabled the computer will believe something has gone wrong and will methodically start disabling core system components until the issue is found.

I'm sorry this made me laugh
