Hello, I need some help setting up a static ip for my home network. I'm currently using network preferences > (wifi) advanced > TCP/IP to configure a DHCP with manual address.

The problem is that I need to use DHCP outside my home network, and have to reconfigure it every time. Is there a way for my laptop to automatically switch settings whenever it detects what network I'm on?

I'm using a Macbook Air on Mountain Lion. Thank you for your help. =]

In Locations at the top, edit them and add a new one that just has DHCP :). Then you can switch to that location from the Apple menu.
