Apple diagnosed the buds. Both have the fault. But i have to pay £89 per bud to replace them. As I bought them
November 2019 and their program only supports 3 years or less.

i feel conned. I have had the issue for months but didn’t know about a replacement program. And i’m being punished for it

I’m pretty much in the same boat. Used them a couple times within the first year I got them and then put them to the side until 2 months ago and am hearing a chirp/static and sometimes while on the phone people say there’s wind noise.

Think if we argue with apple they’d resolve the issue free of charge ?

Same thing happened to my right one (see rattlegate thread) outside the 3-year period and I felt used and abused, lol. I later read that I can still use them with ANC off. And to be fair, three years is a good run for wireless headphones for me*, but in the end I’m sort of glad it happened or else I’d have never tried Beats Fit Pro which I like a lot more for workouts.

*I don’t want to remember how many pairs of workout headphones I‘ve gone through since my first iPod in 2005.

I’m going to try this route https://www.apple.com/uk/legal/statutory-warranty/uk/

Keep in mind UK CL means that the SELLER (not manufacturer) is responsible. So if you bought them at Apple Retail Store or online from apple.com, go for it. If you bought them anywhere else - that’s who you have to talk to.
After speaking to two people at apple, getting a copy of my receipt from the Apple Store I bought them at, they capitulated and they are sending me a box to return my, headphones to be replaced or refurbished

Got the repair/replacement back today. Great service considering I only posted them two days ago
