The Statue of Liberty looks like a building gone terribly wrong, but even so, I rather have a Statue of Liberty that looks disfigured than Apples devastating maps app. Reliability first then fancy pansy 3D second. Thank you Google.

I'm kinda surprised this was overlooked but then again there's a **** ton of data they go through.
 
I don't think it's been overlooked, it's just simply google caring more about reliability and functionality rather than nice "bird eye" visuals that Apple tries to focus on.

I'm pretty sure google will keep it that way since making nicer 3D visuals will consume more data, since the map data is not stored on the phone.
