iPhone Status bar won't go away

in iOS 7 I believe there was a status bar fix tweak to make the status bar disappear when viewing full screen photos. Is there any tweak for iOS 8? Can't seem to find one.
 
It doesn't seem like there's a status bar when looking at full screen photos (at least not in iOS 8.3).
