Studio Display is finally getting a major update this year, it will have way better contrast thanks to having a miniLED panel.

The current model is nearly identical to your 2015 iMac display

I would get an iMac over Studio Display any day of the week. Sleeker, better quality panel, integrated Mac inside, and much better design.

Studio Displays are old, outdated, and an old way of doing things.

I'll keep it simple - whether you get a Mini, Studio or iMac, get at least 32 gigs of RAM if you are moving over to CC as both apps and OS are requiring a bit more juice these days and memory. Apple Display is cool but is there really an advantage at the end of the day with CC - no. However, if you get it, get it because, as you said, you like Apple and for some there is also a prestige that goes along with it. As for me, I rather go with ASUS or LG or BenQ and we can throw Dell in too. I think having a Mini or Studio and a separate monitor is more bang for the buck as upgrading doesn't require throwing away everything. If you like to simply swap out everything every 3 years, iMac is pretty good option.

I bought a Studio Display last Black Friday for my Mac mini and I don't regret it at all. I wanted a very bright display and if I wanted a comparable top nit brightness the price was almost the same as the SD so I've decided to pull the trigger and buy one.

Very satisfied so far and for the M-series Mac, it is truly impressive. My main Mac is the intel i7 27' iMac one with the top graphic card available and the basic M4 mini is noticeably faster than my old iMac. For me, the base 16GB RAM is enough but I upgraded the SSD to 512 only for the SSD spec bump. With an external SSD like a samsung T7, you don't need an internal 1TB one.

Get the Studio Display. I got mine about a week after it was released. It has been through three Macs in that time (M1, M2, M4). I have zero complaints about it. Best display I've ever owned.

I've seen over a hundred 27" iMacs shovelled into a truck for disposal before. Nearly all of them were still working but the computer half was no good any more. The displays outlast the machines.
