staying connected?

Hi-hope you can help!Every 30 minutes my macbookpro pops up a message-"This is your reminder that your connection remains active.Do you wish to stay connected?"-If I don't click the 'Stay connected' button I lose the connection.This is very frustrating if I'm downloading large files.
How do I turn this off?

What kind of connection do you have? Are you using a VPN, a cellular modem, or dial-up? Or some kind of specialized software? I've never seen that warning before. Come to think of it, not even on VPN or cellular modem.

EDIT never mind... google is your friend. Try this:

Open System Preferences and select Network. Choose Internal Modem from the Show pop-up menu and then click the PPP tab. At the bottom is a button labeled PPP Options. Click that. Uncheck the box that says Prompt every 30 minutes to maintain connection, and you won't be bothered again.
