When looking to buy older steam games on apple silicon macs is there a way to tell if it has been updated for AS?
Also what impact will OS 27 have for intel games?

same question here. I have a couple Mac intel games (Trine, Torchlight, a few others) that stopped working on my Macs a couple OS updates back. I have to run parallels and download the steam/windows version of them in parallels to run and they run fine there. But its also a 30gig overhead for the windows VM and probably slower. Anyhow with all the WWDC claims over the past few years about the game developers toolkit and the native hypervisor translation on M1, it doesn't seem to have ANY end-user benefits.

I looked into crossover if it'd have a smaller footprint, but so much more complex to install games, and I'm still dealing with the windows/steam versions.

You can check the game's metadata on Steamdb.info. If osextended includes macosapplesilicon it has a native port.
