Now answer this...are all the games that are there to buy & download, playable on the Mac? Or is there just certain ones available for the Mac?

So...the LAST reason to remotely think about keeping a PC at home is GONE now.

I am not a heavy gamer but must congratulate Valve for keeping its word; you guys will now see how profitable it is to cater to the loyal Mac community, especially at a moment when Apple DOMINATES every corner of the market.

MS IS DEAD. AND SO IS GOOGLE.

Do you realize that everybody who reads your posts laughs at you?

X IS DEAD X IS DEAD X IS DEAD. It's like watching somebody with tourettes.

Yeah, that was pretty idiotic. Some of you Apple Fanboys deserve a good kick in the butt for the stupid things you people say.

Steam is the worst thing that I've ever seen to come to Mac OS X. For people who actually game on Windows (either on a PC or through Bootcamp), they know that this is horrible.

MS will never die. Google will never die. To say that they will is just stupid.

Agreed. Steam is desecrating the OS X platform.

Really? Never? Strong words.

Everything will die, well maybe not "god" (if there is one or some other powers that we don´t know of). So better be careful using the "stupid" word. ;)

Things that have been around for a while tend not to die (well, they probably won't in our lifetime). Those 2 companies are huge, and I don't see them dying anytime soon.

So, it's now May 24th, and I can still play Portal. Would any of the people who ridiculed everyone for thinking the game was ACTUALLY free like to step up and admit they were wrong?

Probably not.

It was free for the taking until the 24th. After that, you have to pay for it. If you were able to download it before the 24th, then it's free to keep forever.

That's what Vertigo said also. but then folks were all "no dummy, you can play it until May 24th but on the 25th you'll have to pay to keep playing it"

thus his comment about 'hey it's the 25th and I am still playing'

no this is what disk utility says

Format : Mac OS Extended (Journaled)

I installed Steam under another user and when I tried on the second, I got the same issue.

When I logged back into the user from which I'd installed Steam, no problems. YMMV, IANAL, LMNOPBBQ.
