Good to see some progress, but the UI still needs some work. Very cluttered looking right now. I know the PC version is pretty bad too, but those labels for the categories and stuff don't look that great.

Luckily this is still beta.

Also, I want to see some source engine running on OSX!

I noticed that the updated PC UI is due out next week.

they've had the beta for a while and it seems to be getting updated almost daily, so you're probably right. Hopefully they launch the two simultaneously.

I wonder how long before Apple does an end-run around companies like Steam and starts selling games and apps for the Mac line directly via iTunes?
