I have the standard Mac book pro 13". I also am looking to put Parallels on the Mac for steam and gaming, But after they released steam on the mac i wouldn't have to. Does anyone else find it a bit slow and jaggedy?

I've played Portal2 through Steam on my iMac, 2007 - 24" Aluminum 4GB ATI2600, without any problems. Speed and graphics have been excellent.

Even the scrolling? I find the gaming fine but the interface itself is a bit slow? I have the new MBP

only a quarter of the games are mac compatible. Go Parallels or whatever you prefer to run windows.

If you want to game, I'd recommend installing Bootcamp anyway, even for only Source engine games. The better driver support will net you a few more frames per second, and the Steam client will be native, and fairly effective, rather than a shoddy port with all the wrong UI paradigms.
