Injury report

broken jaw, broken left sinus cavity, 9 inch laceration on the back of the head, some teeth, and some knee damage....

medics were seen picking teeth off the asphalt.......:( :(
That's really too bad. Really. Sure, it's his own fault for being a moron about it, but I hate to see the guy hurt.

I wonder what caused the accident, and if the person who hit him will be worse off than Steve "I made Alou miss the ball" Bartman was in Chicago a couple of years ago.

This is what happens when your team is unfairly given a championship. I had to, sorry. :p

But I do wish him the best of luck with recovery. But this is partially his fault. Not wanting to wear a helmet? Please. Some roll model, I hope he learned his lesson and is well for next season as he has huge potential.

While I certainly agree with the (oft-stated) sentiment that one should always wear a helmet on a motorcycle, it appears that in terms of his viability as a football player (next season or ever), the injuries to his knees would probably be the most relevant.

Helmets don't cover knees. Accidents happen, and it looks like he was (relatively) lucky. From a football standpoint, teeth can be replaced and jaws heal - knees are a tricky business.

Good luck to his recovery. Seemed like a nice guy.

Too true, considering he had knee surgery during the beginning of last season.

I'm speechless that you would post that.....truely....I can't even get into that right now.....

As of right now, the new reports (John Clayton espn, and KDKA news) that the injury's are "not serious injuries" evidently he has a bad broken jaw, some missing teeth, and a sprained knee.

if these reports are true, then he is one lucky and blessed guy....

Oh, also some F**k is selling the blood from the accident scene on E-Bay, which is obviously BS since the accident scene was roped off immediately, and the blood was washed down with hoses....

HERE WE GO!!!!!!

Shocked by this too. Wish someone had shown him the 'after' pictures of riders who don't wear helmets. I had the mistfortune of once seeing the after - he's lucky it was just his teeth the police were picking up (if indeed they were as one poster said).

Also, most reports are stating that he was not at fault and was not driving at an excessive speed. Still, bad choice on his part.
yoji

He's extremely lucky to have survived without wearing a helmet. What the hell is with that, is it not a legal requirement in the US to wear a helmet at all times while riding a motorcycle?

Idiot.

apparently not in pennsylvania... it is in many states though.

I like YELLOW's comments.

I hope Ben has a full recovery.
As a Patriots fan, I hope he recovers in 6-8 months.

Regarding the rude comments from another poster: What would you expect from a Yankees fan?

Oh, wait, I need to put one of these :p in to be able to say "hey, it was just a joke!".

That totally sucks. When I first saw the report on ESPN I thought the poor guy was dead. As everyone says, it is silly that he didn't wear his helmet, he jeopardized his career and most importantly, his life. I hope he recovers soon and maybe he'll win another super bowl even though I hate the Steelers. go bears...
