Mixed feelings about this!

For me:

Around the middle of the last decade, OS X looked incredibly futuristic and colourful compared to Windows and the various Linux GUIs.

By the time of mountain Lion, all of the leather and textures felt gauche and embarrassing.

Then Yosemite felt like an exciting modern update.

And now, the bright saturated icons and swathes of bright white on super sharp screens are feeling gauche now in the age of ‘digital detoxing’.

Sure, dark mode will help but next version, let’s see the chrome completely de-emphasised, as per the stated aim of iOS 7 & Yosemite.

I’d like to see more toned down pastel shaded icons and more sepia/grey being used (as well as the dark mode).

In short, a modern version of iOS 9!

How things change.
[doublepost=1535365157][/doublepost]I suspect that all of those who are noastalgic for the old days and hate the iOS-ification of the mac are going to get a shock in 2019, when we can expect a redesign for both iOS (not as dramatic as iOS 7) and macOS that will visually unify them much more than before (to go with marzipan).
