Curious, if you install Pedometer++, and then try to add the widget for Steps, does that work?
Works for me, with iOS16 and the new Ultra watch. Hence, the suggestion...
Pedometer (and no other steps app) widget is not offered for me when I try to edit my Lock Screen ?
(not sure what reference to watch ultra has to do with it).
