the film was mean spirited and i think that's why it failed. The version of steve jobs in this film is a complete jerk who doesn't have any redeeming qualities. i don't honestly know why it got good reviews. structurally, it was boring and all i could think of was that aaron sorkin clearly hated the guy and worse, had no respect for him.

so you are saying the movie represented him correctly...excellent!

And every DVD comes with a fold-out of Danny's giant heed ...

Did you see the same film I saw? The Boyle film with Fassbender in the lead role? I thought Fassbender found a balance in his portrayal. Remember that early in his life, Jobs did act like a jerk. He was obsessive and brusk -- but he was also brilliant at what he did. It was later in life where he began to mellow. The film shows us his early years, and we begin to see him change only at the very end of the film. I guess in that sense, the film is biased. We never get to see the "kinder, gentler" Jobs that Tim Cook remembers. But I didn't feel that it portrayed Jobs in a derogatory light. It was the story of a flawed man obsessed with perfection, and on that level I thought the film worked really well.

Good. Hopefully once February comes and goes we will not have be subjected to info on this movie anymore.

You now what is going to happen???

You can be apple iTunes will feature this film for purchase/rent on iTunes. Why not make money - sure every apple employee/spouse/relative/distant cousin seems to of been offended by the very making of this movie, yet we will still see it streamed from iTunes.

Hypocrites!

For me, it's Robin Hood, Superman, Batman, and Spiderman...

;)

For me it's those cheesy, CGI porno films from marvel. I mean seriously one Avenger's movie is enough, but no we have to see a few more. Then movies about some other loony toon marvel super hero. On screen have to listen to the cheesy cringe-worthy dialogue/jokes. Hollywood milks it!

At least I can appreciate this over a Steve Job's movie. I mean the guy has passed but people praise him as if he was the second coming. Good grief, he created a cellphone and it was good. But these days there are much better options and like I really want to see how he is in real life; I'd rather they make a movie about apple, inc. how much money they make, how they stash their cash to avoid tax, how they employ hundreds of thousands of works in asia, and how they contribute/fix global pollution and why the damn iPhone gets thinner yet battery life is just as pathetic, and most importantly who the hell said yes to that iHump case?!?

And if they don't who is going to be the first to shout something out about censorship. There's no winning there.

No one has to see anything. We all have choices. It's also all just entertainment.

Simply because Tim Cook, Lauren Powell Jobs, et.al. have been very public with their objections to its portrayal of the man. I'm interested in seeing it and considering how favorable the reviews were I am surprised how quickly it got pulled considering the talent behind it.

Yes, that's true. I think it is a very well shot and acted piece of fiction. To bad it was not promoted as fiction.

Or the other way is to think that this is art and not all art needs to be realistic. It can be abstract or impressionist. What they made was a non-realist art film inspired by a steve jobs like person.

It flopped not because it as not good but because the public was not interested in non-realistic biographies even if done really well. The "want-a-be" film maker in me likes it when I tell myself it is fiction but is really annoyed that they used a real person's name on the tile just to try and make a few bucks

I will this when it becomes available for download, I feel the film didn't get much buzz when it was released in cinemas

so when it comes to Netflix? Im not going to buy bluray actually I stopped buying stuff long time ago.

I'm pissed off that people are still making Abraham Lincoln movies. It's annoying, he's dead, everyone's over the fact that he's dead, making movies about him won't make him less dead, jeez.

I'm pissed off that people are still making Martin Luther King movies. It's annoying, he's dead, everyone's over the fact that he's dead, making movies about him won't make him less dead, jeez.

I'm pissed off that people are still making John F. Kennedy movies. It's annoying, he's dead, everyone's over the fact that he's dead, making movies about him won't make him less dead, jeez.

I'm pissed off that people are still making Wyatt Earp movies. It's annoying, he's dead, everyone's over the fact that he's dead, making movies about him won't make him less dead, jeez.

I'm pissed off that people are still making George Patton movies. It's annoying, he's dead, everyone's over the fact that he's dead, making movies about him won't make him less dead, jeez.
Adolf Hitler movies are the worst. The man organised the murder of millions of people and still movies are being made about his.

Universal Pictures has announced the Digital HD and Blu-ray release dates for the underperforming Steve Jobs film, set to launch digitally on February 2 and then in retail locations two weeks later on February 16 of next year.

The studio noted that some of the Blu-ray special features include:
The home release of the film coincides with the 88th Annual Academy Awards ceremony, set to kick off Sunday, February 28.

Given Universal's original Oscar push for Michael Fassbender and Kate Winslet in the lead roles, it makes sense for the studio to try and get the film in front of more people after pulling it from over 2,000 of its screening locations around the United States due to its poor box office performance.

February 2nd, Ground Hog's Day. I wonder if it will see its shadow... or a profit.

It's funny that the movie has actually gotten pretty great reviews, but apparently you can not even try to make a film about Apple fan's god Steve Jobs. Too bad this blind dogmatism prevents you from thinking critically - just like religion

Hit the nail on the head.

Steve Jobs was a mean spirited jerk though.

Anyone who doesn't realise this was a fantastic film is an absolute dunce. It's not a biopic, but it's a bloody good film.
