Let's see here:

Academy Award winning director (Danny Boyle) + Academy Award winning screenwriter (Aaron Sorkin) + one of the best actors in Hollywood (Michael Fassbender)....

...and people don't want to see this exceptional collaboration come to fruition because they're:

a) too devoted to Jobs' memory
b) unable to decipher between this and the Kutcher version
c) have no general understanding of how films are made

This issue isn't that MacRumors is reporting this extensively. This issue here is that the comments remind me very strongly of the idiotic ESPN and Youtube comments sections.

I can't wait for this film.

And yes, outlets reporting on the hacked emails are completely unethical, and the studio should definitely treat them a bit differently on upcoming highly anticipated junkets.

Out of respect for the craft and for the people who DON'T want the whole damn thing spoiled, can you at least redact the dialog line??? or at least hide it in spoiler black?? Jesus.
**** you Mac Rumors. No spoiler alert warning? Why are you including quotes from the movie without a warning? ********s.
Keep yourselves together, because based on this I don't know how you'll be able to handle the ending...

It's completely unethical for media outlets to publish confidential information that has been stolen.

Nobody gets this up in arms about the ethics of iPhone leaks. That's basically stolen information too.

This is a rumors site, it's what you have to expect.

That Sony hack is going to spoil a lot of films for their viewers if their storyline is trotted in detail in advance.

This. Sites like Verge and this one are just as culpable as the hackers who stole the information in the first place. If you buy a stolen car from a thief and sell it to another party, that's trafficking in stolen property. Same with the IP stolen from Sony.

Why wouldn't they post it? It's perfect clickbait for an article about a movie that really has no need to be made because 99% of the world couldn't give two ***** about Steve Jobs. I couldn't care less about a movie written about a guy I will never care about and had no effect on my life that's important enough to fill this website full of stupid article after stupid article on it. They profit from this stolen material, of course they are going to keep bleating on about this pointless movie and the stolen info they got from it.

It's not about the "ending". It's about how the drama is very carefully structured to unfold and the way the character arcs are developed so that it all comes to a very satisfying and sharp point expressed visually, musically, or through dialog with rich subtext.

The line that was revealed was undoubtedly the work of many many months of deeply thought out character and story structure - work that was so well done that the author of the book on Steve Jobs life was impressed.

I pay hard earned money to see very well executed storytelling. I get pissed off when people ****** all over that work.

Thank you to the editor for removing the line.

How is posting these personal emails any different than the personal pics from hacked icloud accounts?

Product launches covered are expected to be the unveiling of the NeXT computer, the debut of the original iMac, and the introduction of the iPod.

I think you meant "original Mac". That's what you reported previously, and it makes more sense.

What's it mean to "make the lenny" of something?

"Lenny" was a one-man show about Lenny Bruce.

Wow. I thought the three scenes backstage would set a story which would then go back in time maybe to show how he got to that point. If the entire movie can be shot in 4 locations..... it-is-a-gonna-sux0rz. I already had given up hope on this movie a while ago, but now it's just LOL-time with all these rumors, leaks and big time actors running away from this thing.

Who would have thought Kutcher is the definitive Jobs of the 2000s????

Yup, I guess so.

This movie just seems like it's going to suck.

3 disconnected scenes of product launches? Two of those product launches are boring to boot. Who gives two turds about the next computer? snooze

After being anointed by the media as the wonder boy of the personal computer revolution, Steve Jobs was unceremoniously thrown out of the company he founded by the guy he personally hired. In desperation to return to relevancy, Jobs bet his fortune and reputation on a revolutionary new computer that, while technologically interesting, was doomed to failure. But from the ashes of this business failure, came his return to Apple and his eventual triumph.

Isn't that worth at least 3 1/2 turds?

You demonstrate a lot of imagination there, sport.;)

But Woz said the "garage" is a myth! Those vintage photos of the two Steve's where really taken @ HP Headquarters and someone photoshopped them to looks like a garage or a bedroom <sarcasm>

The internal buzz is suggesting the script is downright amazing. Can't wait for this film.

Not sure why you think some movies are necessary and some aren't?

NO art is necessary in life. They produce art because they can.

Art isn't a functional object. It is entertainment.

And this is going to be an amazing movie.

BTW the guy you don't care for created the entire personal computer industry that is responsible for what you are doing. He was responsible for significant portion of the global economy over the last 30 years.

Yes, that guy. Without him, you wouldn't be doing what you are doing. Can you name any OTHER guy from 1975 that thought computers should be used by the general mom & pop & kids public instead of used as industrial appliances?

Tom Cruise would definitely be a good fit for this role...

Ashton Kutcher fits the "Dude, where is my car" character more than Steve Jobs.
The X-men Magneto guy definitely fits that role better.

Oblivion would be a better movie. This sounds like going a role of "going from a roller-coaster to a jeep"

Save your energy.

Some people would rather read about trivial people (e.g. Lebrun James, Taylor swift, john Stewart, John boehner etc) than people who actually have shaped the world.
