While I certainly respect the family's decision to do as Steve would have wished, I do find it odd that they would not hold some sort of public memorial for a man who had such a profound impact on the lives of so many people.
As it should be. The family deserves it's privacy to mourn and say good-bye to the husband and father they knew. And the company needs it's celebration to remember and grieve for their leader and founder. For the rest of us, no Michael Jackson-esque televised display or public moment of silence could offer as good a way to say "thank you and farewell" as the very personal, impromptu memorials of apples, notes, flowers and candles before the windows of those stores.Fans of Apple and Steve Jobs have of course taken memorial services into their own hands, setting up impromptu displays of flowers, messages, and other items at Apple retail stores around the world.

This site has been collecting pictures of the memorials world-wide.

Watch 'Triumph of the Nerds' instead, much better.
I realized the other day that now, when I hold my iPhone... I feel like it's Steve's like I'm holding something that he had touched and loved so much. It's just an odd sensation and I'm kinda taken aback how this has effected me. Much more than I thought it would.
Yeah I agree. Although I do like PoSV, I prefer Triumph better. And it has some good interviews with Steve Jobs as well and the history of how computers and the first GUI computers came to be.

Thought he was suppose to lay Shiva for 7 days![]()
