How can Steve Jobs say NOT TO HOLD IT LIKE THIS when he CLEARLY does so HIMSELF??????? :confused: :confused:

Even in their own ADVERTISEMENTS they hold it incorrectly according to Apple and Steve Jobs.

WHY IS APPLE LYING TO US?

He is a hypocrite and is spinning the damage control.

This is a BIG strike against LEFT-HANDED users, like myself who invariably hold the device in their left hand.

He's not talking on the phone in any of those photos...

The issue is about dropped calls, not dropped data transfer.

Why is this a stupid topic?

Apprarently all of the major media outlets have reported on this. There is a lot of discontent over this issue. Many videos and online artiles validating this. Are you such a duck that you are unable to realize how troubling this is, that your bets response is that its a stupid topic? Are you still watching saturday morning cartoons and being dressed by your mom? Some of us are adults living in the real world, not in Mom's basement, where she does your laundry once a week, junior. Some of us DO have concerns. SJ tells us this is an improper way to hold the device, yet he clearly does so himself as well as those in his ads.

And why is it necessary to use profanity? Do you lack intellectual skills and cursing is how you communicate?

The Apple fanboys are really pathetic . They are unable to see the issue here and resort to insults. Not very productive.

No it isn't.

The issue is about the poor cellular performance of the phone when you hold it in certain ways. For different people that could be a loss of calls, loss of data service or failure to send text messages.

If you actually read the emails he sent in context, it is clear that he is saying to avoid holding the phone in a way that causes it to drop signal. If it doesn't drop signal, there is no wrong way to hold it. He didn't say that universally no one should ever hold it that way.

I'm not saying it was the best response he could have given, but people have exaggerated his words and blown it way out of proportion.

Precisely.

Don't use logic with fanboys they feel threatened and get defensive. Actually, this type of behavioral response is usually from a individual that is insecure and probably actually does believe there is a problem, so they erect these defense mechanisms and attack the poster rather than the issue. Psych 101.

Thanks, fanboys. Your responses make Apple seem even more culpable, based upon frivilous objections. Too much acquiescence around here for my taste.

Another thing I've ntoiced around here is the very imature and juvenille repsonses on MR. There must be a lot of young kids on here. You can quickly tell the adults from the little kids, based upon their attitude, tact and language.

Yes, I found this posted elsewhere and thought it visually important enough to repost. Clearly, many fanboys despise any negatvity directed towards Apple. also, not everyone will see this buried in another thread and just sought to provide some interesting and conflicting evidence.

Hopefully, others will appreciate my contribution as well.

Those are apple ads/demos - no way to know how those phones would actually perform.
 
I hope the OP feels better now he has got that of his chest.

Two suggestions for OP:

1. Man up, hold the phone differently and get used to it, didn't take me long.

2. Return it, then you can move on with your life.
