Why is it a lame solution?
Return the phone if it's a problem, otherwise learn to deal with it.

Returning it is not a solution. Do you thionk Apple or SJ would asvocate such an option.
There's a difference between a fix and a band-aid solution, which only masks the broader issue.

To acquiesce and settle. Accept flaws. Give MORe money ($30) to Apple for a bumper so the phone works?
Many of us have trouble with strong cell signals as it is, this only exacerbates the issue. Especially for those who are left-handed.
These are not solutions to the problem. They are only burying the problem. Its no different than taking a diet pill and cholestrol meds in lieu of expercise and eating a healthy diet.
One day when you guys get older and mature, your attitude wil change as an adult. I've noticed a lot of cursing and short-sightedness (read: lack of wisdom or any business acumen) around here. I dont know whether to attribute it to the ignorant youth, cult-like complacency or just plain lack of intelligent understanding.
Actually it didn't matter he was using WiFi anyway during the Keynote, and second because it isn't his personal phone

Steve Jobs is cool and all, but we don't have to agree with everything he says. And just cause we buy an apple product, doesn't mean we have to accept it as perfect. It is still OK to voice our complaints.

Wow. Patronising, arrogant and rude. I don't know whether to attribute it to the miserable old, cult-like complaining or just plain lack of intelligent understanding.
He isn't new. He joined back in December when the 27" iMac was having its issues and saying how Apple sucks for letting defective products out the door and not being forth coming and telling us there is a problem and they are fixing it, etc.
These are young kids posting, it seems. Very juvenille attitudes, to say the least. Just insults and no rational discussion or solution. VERY counter productive.

If your iPhone DOES exhibit the issue then either don't hold it that way temporarily until a fix comes out, or permanently, try to exchange it, or return it.

I work in tech support for a popular UK department store but how does that help you with YOUR iPhone 4 problem?
