Wow. I live 30 minutes from the Santa Fe opera. Always wanted to go and I'm not doing anything Saturday night. Tempting, but hard to justify the dough.

Ohh, interesting.

Will this include an Opera singer, Singing in a LOD voice as Steve.
Shouting and Swearing at his members of staff, making unrealistic demands from them or they are fired?

Interesting to hear this in music form?

Well, fine. But I'm not seeing very much diversity here in this production.
How much "diversity" was in Steve Jobs life? You can't rewrite history to fulfill modern equality quotas. Do you want his wife Laurene Powell to be played by a black lesbian women?

All aboard the hype train - Choo Choo!

(its a locomotive joke.....I'll get my coat)

Who will be the fat lady who sings so we know when it's over?;)

She'll be the thinnest fat lady they've ever cast in an Opera. She will be the most refined fat lady to date, meticulously trained, With remarkable innovations in her vocal chords that set the new precedent, every tooth in her mouth has been measured to ensure they are useful and enhance her vocal projection. She's the thinnest and most powerful fat lady yet.

Steve would never let this happen.
Not sure. He was a lover of arts.
[doublepost=1500538503][/doublepost]There is nothing surprising about this . Contemporary modern operas can be about mundane subjects, it doesn't have to be about kings, emperors, angels and faeries anymore.

Ooh, go and let us know. If you're an Opera Virgin don't let it put you off. Opera is usually good :)

Surprise surprise, a bunch of overwhelmingly negative comments by people who haven't even seen it.

Standard Macrumors these days. I miss when this used to be a place for mature discussion.

It is unfortunate. I do think this is a website that has plenty of mature discussions, it's typically the article title or the first few comments that discourses the majority of the posts. But I enjoy Macrumors and there are some very knowledge forum members on here, where you can learn something.

You talk smack about the negative comments, but didn't contribute anything positive, so what's you're point? Only neutral people should be given the right to comment or have an opinion?

As much as I love opera — and I really do — I can't see this going well.

Now if they had managed to rope in Philip Glass (Akhnaten, Satyagraha, Einstein on the Beach, Galileo Galilei etc…) or John Adams (Nixon in China, Death of Klinghoffer…) I'd be booking my trans Atlantic flight.

Anyway. Best of luck to all involved.
