I certainly hope the graphic shown with Steve smiling with an iPhone is NOT the design. I think it should be the design Mark Summers (of Barnes & Noble fame) produced last year.

Here's a mock-up that would look a 1000% better than the smiling iPhone one.

I think the photo on his biography or from the same session would be good. That or one from the early Macintosh days. I hope they avoid photos from the last few years where he looks frail.

It shouldn't be a photo - it should be a black & white artist's sketch

sketch is okay, but poor layout with the background bisecting the top of his head.

It's not a sketch... did you click the full size image? Also, google MARK SUMMERS STEVE JOBS. The reason he had that break is because there used to be a quote from Steve. It looks better... check the web

I did not like this man. I don't understand why people STILL worship him as a God. He was not a good man who denied his daughter. He also was very horrible to work for.

Totally.....

deserved. For achievements in life and legacy.....Way to go, Steve....!....:D

:):apple:

great move

I hadn't heard about this but it really is appropriate.

I'm sure USPS will work hard on getting the image right. After all, there will be a lot of stamps that are souvenirs and never used.

I don't think putting someone on a stamp is quite the same as going to worship him (oops, Him) every Sunday. About his daughter, that's under the heading of "none of your biz" -- but since you know so much and don't like Jobs... here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lisa_Brennan-Jobs

From that wiki page:

Brennan-Jobs later reconnected with her father; she lived with him for a few years in her teens, and he paid for her to go to Harvard University, where she cultivated her interest in writing. Brennan-Jobs has three younger half-siblings.

Brennan-Jobs graduated from Harvard University in 2000[2] and is currently living in New York City. She has been published in The Southwest Review, The Massachusetts Review, The Harvard Crimson, The Harvard Advocate, Spiked, Vogue, and O, The Oprah Magazine.

It seems to me if Jobs and Lisa patched things up about two decades ago, he allowed her to live with him for several years and then put her through Harvard,... you can try and have a little love in your heart for the man. At the least a little like.

And for all of the people that didn't like Steve and didn't want to work for him, I'm sure there were dozens happy to be there. Mostly you're talking about Steve's attitude before the oust. Many have said that although he still had a temper after he returned to Apple in 1997, Steve had mellowed a lot.

I don't understand your post. Without Steve, Apple would've folded in 1997. That's a fact. I suppose that's a reason for people to have good feelings for him. I certainly do.

Hopefully it'll be a better image than the one depicted in this article.

Why is it such a giant intellectual stretch for so many here to understand the concept of a mock up illustration or graphic? Not just this post but others here too where the product is still unreleased or vaporware?

Hint: it's early 2014, so no, the USPS has not released pictures of its 2015 lineup yet. The editors just make a mock up foe illustrative purposes. Don't take it so literal, esp. On a rumor site. Sleep well now.

On a side note love the irony of a Jobs stamp. The USPS may be on the way out but at least they have a sense of humor.

This statement is the most significant in your excellent post. Thanks for posting. I agree that someone's personal life it just that--personal. Without Steve there would never have been and Apple and definitely would have folded in 1977.

I'm pleased that Steve will be remembered on stamp.

Your comment about people who didn't want to work for him is good. Who has never had a difficult superior? Happened to me once when a supervisor was replaced with a taskmaster. No problem. I resigned gracefully and went on to a new position that turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me.

I have a lot of respect and admiration for Steve.

In other news, Samsung engineers have designed A new app called Stamp Job which emulates the postal service in their native Korea by delaying instant messages by 2-3 business days

Always eager to "innovate", their skill as reverse engineers is nearly as apt as their command of the English language

Unlike the SJ stamp, which will have a yellow tint, not have any adhesive so it can be thinner and only work on $5 Apple envelopes.
