If he hadn’t been such an esoteric nutjob. I guess even geniuses are stupid in many ways. Really killed himself.
I've observed that many persons' sentiment about this stems from long term MR users who heavily lean on the Mac. They feel neglected & unloved in terms of Apple's R&D focus.Perhaps, but I wonder if we wouldn't be better off as consumers. A lot of people seem to think we would. You can grow a company *and* make cool stuff. Like anything it's a continuum, and lots of people feel Tim Cook took it too far in one direction.
That is when people like Tim Cook comes into play.that’s easy to say in hindsight, at the time the video iPods were very popular despite their tiny screens.
Steve was wrong, the market was right, and he admitted it…by releasing a video iPod in 2005.
That there is what we call…Nearly 14 years ago Steve Jobs claimed that no one's going to buy a big phone. For a few years prior to that pronouncement Android had big phones.
Apple tried to bring back small phones and failed. Android largely do not have small phones either.
I doubt Steve would have been able to make Apple Inc a more than $3 trillion company.
Honestly part of me really wonders if the petty ******* inside Steve groomed Tim Cook to be his replacement, knowing how bereft Tim is of any true inspiring vision. He had to have known Tim would turn the company into the steamy mess it is now. Sure, profit is still great, but the vision seems blurred.Steve please come back and fire Tim Apple.
He also told Tim not think "What would Steve do" when running the company
I drive by there all the time. Same thoughts.Every time I drive by the Edison and Ford Winter Estates, I think about how Steve should be in that company.
We will never know... we can never be sure... you could imagine numerous possibilities... Apple doing better, doing worse.. or going under. We will never know. In any case, Apple is a business and in effect it makes and offers what is going to make it money. I love my iPhone mini 13, but they discontinued it. So my next phone... I either buy whatever they offer at that time, or see what other companies are selling. If Steve was still alive I am sure we would have seen better Apple products and he would have never discontinued the iPhone mini!
Steve: Tim, I think we should produce a bigger phone.Uhm..... And he was also the one who approved bigger iPhone, both iPhone 5 and iPhone 6 before he passed away.
Apple is a business and under Tim Cook they are still the envy of most other companies on the planet. Im sure Steve and whoever else behind the scenes making decisions knew 100% what they were getting with Tim. Tim comes across as a good guy, a stable pair of hands... the problem with trying to get someone 'like' Steve Jobs is that it could end up pretty disastrous, pretty fast. A lot of people with big Visions etc come with a lot of baggage. I feel Tim has one, but keeps it in check.Honestly part of me really wonders if the petty ******* inside Steve groomed Tim Cook to be his replacement, knowing how bereft Tim is of any true inspiring vision. He had to have known Tim would turn the company into the steamy mess it is now. Sure, profit is still great, but the vision seems blurred.
Many others in computing made contributions that dwarf those of the more popular characters. And they don't get a mention, or a celebration each year.Reading some of the comment here makes me think some have missed the point, Steve Jobs died young, he made a overwhelming contribution to computing and its right that his legacy (Apple) recognises this each year. We wouldn’t have the gadets we have now without his contribution.
From a man in a country that will be re-electing a convicted fraudster, criminal, true nutjob! If he hadn’t been such an esoteric nutjob. I guess even geniuses are stupid in many ways. Really killed himself.
I wonder if Steve Jobs was still alive if we would have ever seen more than one size of the iPhone or iPad. The iPhone mini would have just been the only iPhone. I remember he was adamant in interviews that both were the perfect size. We would have seen thinner but larger and so many options I’m not sure.If Steve was still alive I am sure we would have seen better Apple products and he would have never discontinued the iPhone mini!
Lot of companies these days have got lost down a Rabbit Hole of choice... they try to offer every permutation and option at the expense of just making one device really really well. If you look at the history of iPhone, iPad and now MacBook... there is just at some point an explosion in the number of options or tiers.I wonder if Steve Jobs was still alive if we would have ever seen more than one size of the iPhone or iPad. The iPhone mini would have just been the only iPhone. I remember he was adamant in interviews that both were the perfect size. We would have seen thinner but larger and so many options I’m not sure.
